Nicoltoys were primarily a sporting goods manufacturer, but as well as making cricket bats, also produced simple wooden block sets, simple wooden wheeled toys such as trucks and locomotives, the patented Multi-Builder construction set, and microscopes (which traditionally came packaged in wooden cases).

The decal logo used on their earlier toys heavily emphasised that they were a Sussex company, with the logo being a gold shield base don the Sussex coat of arms, with the addition of a diagonal scroll lettered NICHOLTOYs, and the crown on the original design replaced by a ruled-off rectangle and the words "ROBERTSBRIDGE SUSSEX".

However, the company seems to have then moved out of Sussex to the Playfair Works, Cambridge.
