An early, very rare Märklin steam-powered model of the famous locomotive LNER 4472 Flying Scotsman.

Although the model has the basic design right, it still manages somehow to add a rather Germanic flavour to the detailing, including the anomalous mixed-case lettering (instead of block capitals) on the locomotive nameplate.

Display

Along with other Flying Scotsman models, this piece will be on special display during the museum's 17th October 2015 Flying Scotsman-themed Train Running Day event.
