A jointed wooden figure of "The Red Queen", from "Through the Looking-Glass" (the sequel to Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland")

The figure was created in Lord Robert's Workshops, and is jointed to have moving arms and legs.
About the character
The Red Queen, despite her opposition to Alice through the chess game that spans Through The Looking-Glass, is nowhere near as antagonistic and hateful as The Queen of Hearts in the previous novel. During her first meeting with Alice she rather kindly explains the rules of chess to her and the manner in which a pawn such as Alice can become a queen.
At the end of the book Alice becomes cross with the Queen and starts shaking her, at which point she turns into Alice's red kitten who has been quarrelling with the other white kitten making Alice think this may be what inspired her dream.
