A brown-and-white Poodle marionette made by Pelham Puppets.
The Poodle marionette line was created in 1948 and stayed in production right up until 1990. There were five variations created, with White, Black, Brown, Pink and Blue fur.
Early models were produced with real rabbit fur but the later models used fake fur.
Description
Poodle standard string Pelham puppet.
Turned wood head with ball nose and snout, painted brown. Body brown painted limb sections threaded by cord. Brown and white rabbit fur on head and body with 'balls' of fur to tail and ankles. Feet are round black lead discs. T-shaped wooden control.
Box has Pelham label lid, "Poodle" stamped on end of lid.
