A three-level printed red and yellow [[tinplate|tin]] hospital sold by [[Mettoy]] as a commercial spinoff of the '''"Emergency Ward 10" ATV television series (1957-1967)'''. The toy hospital has a baseplate with kerb, ground and first floors, and a flat green roof with lift access, via a small lift building on the roof fitted with a top winding-handle to raise and lower the lift. 

Emergency Ward 10 was Britain's first television soap opera, and was also the first British tv series to show two episodes per week.

The toy appeared in the UK Mettoy catalogue in 1961.

With this outstanding toy children can re-enact the scenes they see in the ever popular Emergency Ward 10 Television series. Designed with the fullest co-operation of a well-known hospital matron, this model has everything in the way of realism, authenticity and play value.

The three floor levels are spit up into reception, general wards, operating theatre and roof garden, with the inside wall sections being movable to allow for the make-up of different sizes of room. A lift carries patients to the first floor and roof garden, 
while each floor level has a host of equipment and figures associated with a modern hospital -- beds, bedding. chairs, lockers,  etc., together with all the equipment seen in an operating theatre, the focal point of the hospital. 24 hospital staff and patient
figures, together with 12 pieces of hospital equipment are included giving the fullest possible scope for the young “doctor” or “nurse".

This most outstanding toy of 1961 is of metal construction with door and centre-swivel windows in clear plastic -- the figures and equipment are beautifully modelled in plastic.
