An "Opera" toy theatre made by Adolf Engels, Germany, in around 1890.
This is the "deluxe" version of the theatre - the usual version that appears in documentation has its side-pillars as flat painted detail - this version has the same basic pillar design, but they are three-dimensional carvings.
