Glamour of Brighton

A solid, painted, cast metal, burgundy 00-gauge-sized paperweight of the LBSCR Abergavenny J1-Class 4-6-2 tank locomotive, running number 325.

The original locomotive

The Abergavenny was designed by D.E. Marsh and built in 1910 at Brighton Works as a fast, heavy-duty locomotive to haul passenger trains on the London-Brighton run, and ran until 1951. It was accompanied by the slightly revised locomotive 326 (J2-class "Bessborough")
