An early (1930's?) green Hornby Series 4-4-2 locomotive and tender, finished with the Flying Scotsman name and LNER running number, 4472.
This is a slightly "loose" representation, as the real Flying Scotsman is a 4-6-2 locomotive.
Paintwork
The paintwork on this model is also slightly anomalous in that the Flying Scotsman in green livery usually had the first band of its boiler painted black. On this model, the front surface of the locomotive is black, but the first band is green, like the rest of the model's bodywork.
This is probably due to the design of the toy loco - it doesn't have a physical seam, ridge or indent to mark the boundary between the "black" and "green" parts of the boiler, and without that boundary mark to paint up to, painting the front section of the boiler black would have been more time-comsuming - someone seems to have decided not to bother.
