A wood, metal and green fabric Wartime Hangar made for the Skybirds range, as item number 22.
It's essentially a model of a temporary or emergency hangar, designed to be put up quickly and cheaply by the Air Force for temporary operations, or as a speedy replacement for a conventional hangar that might have been destroyed by enemy action.
Construction
The hangar model consists of a large baseboard with metal wire frame, over which fits a fabric sleeve, using a tent- or marquee-type construction principle. Rather than having front doors, the hangar front has a pair of flaps that can be tied closed, or lifted and tied in the "open" position.
