A painted hollowcast lead Gorilla, from the Britains Zoo range, probably pre-war, catalogue number 906.

Giulia: " This gorilla is standing on its legs showing people its strength by opening its mouth and highlighting its muscles. It is standing on a green rectangle showing a firm stance. In its right hand it grasps a handful of grass. "

1940 catalogue description

" The largest and most powerful of the Apes, they are found in Africa, and live principally in trees. These animals are extremely dangerous foes to meet, being particularly ferocious and vicious. "
