Red Fire Engine with Extending Ladder. A large silver ladder and a bell are mounted on the top of the fire engine, and a slot with a (sadly) inoperable fire hose reel on the side. The model sports red wheel hubs too, and next to it is its original box. The toy was renumbered to 555 in 1954. With blue striped box. 1954 - 1970

Commer

Commer began as the Commercial Car Company in 1905. Unsurprisingly, they specialised in commercial vehicles: vans, trucks, buses and military vehicles. After going through receivership several times, a set of business mergers led to Commer passing through Humber, The Rootes Group, Chrysler Europe and eventually Peugeot. Its new owners renamed it to the Dodger marquee which ran along the Renault range. The Commer name was finally dropped in 1976, but the Dodger marque still exists.
