A model of the Astra 1C satellite (the third Astra satellite), presented to one of the contracting companies at around the time of its launch.
The original satellite
Astra 1C was an HS-601 design built by Hughes.
It was launched on 12th May 1993 on an Arianne 4 rocket, and entered service on July 1993.
2024: Donation
The model was donated to the Museum by Geraldine Banks on 12th November 2024.
