Baby Dragon Marionette A3, made by Pelham Puppets.
Designed as part of a set with the Mother Dragon Marionette, the pair were originally released in 1963 and were in continued production until the closing of the factory in 1992.
Where the Mother Dragon is basically green, the Baby Dragon's body and head are orangey.
Description
Baby Dragon standard stringed Pelham puppet, with original box.
Hollow composition moulded head with large snout, nose, blue eyes and two moulded white fangs with large red mouth. Light green back of head with black painted fringe. Ball body with moulded black tail and two spiny fins, pale green body over back with sponged white and dark green splodges over moulded raised shoulders and body. Green felt wings with black edge and yellow spot. Legs green beads with circular feet on cord thread.
T-shaped wooden control.
Box - slides open, medium size, yellow card base with yellow printed lid, Pelham text and illustrations of Muffin the Mule, Donald Duck, Ermintrude (cow from Magic Roundabout) puppets and multicoloured Pelham puppets text. Open front. Box labelled 'A3 Baby Dragon' on end of lid. Instructions for using puppet on back of inner box.
