Bathroom pedestal sink, aluminium (Rusco) |
location: |
Arch Two , Area 19 |
A gleaming polished aluminium 1:12-scale dollhouse pedestal bathroom sink with mustard-yellow bowl made in the 1930s, apparently by Rusco of Walsall as part of a larger range of aluminium accessories.
Identification
Rebecca Green's excellent article on Hobbies Ltd shows an advert from the 1937 Hobbies annual (which we don't have in our archive) displaying the range, and attributes it to Rusco of Walsall, a company that we otherwise don't know much about. The "Rusco" attribution to these very unusual and distinctive pieces seems to be universal and uncontested.
