The Beezer Broadway Books (and "The Broadway Book of ..." series) were a set of miniature soft cover book-stroke-magazines, only a couple of inches wide, given away for free by D.C. Thomson with The Skipper.
The Skipper (D.C. Thompson)
The Skipper ("A Great New Story Paper for Boys") was published by Scottish comicbook publishing giant D.C. Thomson from 1930 until the middle of World War Two, when it became the victim of paper shortages. While many of Thomson's more comic-book style titles such as The Beano reappeared after the War, The Skipper didn't.
