Construction toys, based on stone blocks (usually reconstituted resin-impregnated powdered stone dust), wood, metal, or plastic.

For the purposes of these listing, we are distinguishing between construction kits and construction toys, the distinction being that a "kit" is usually designed to make one specific model, which is usually permanent, whereas with a construction "toy", the built object is usually assumed to be temporary, and is then taken apart so that something else can be built with the parts.

Some systems use a mix of materials, but usually one material dominates: for instance a stone block construction toy might have some auxiliary metal, card, or plastic parts for things like roofing, or bridgework (Richter), or detailed windows (Lotts).
