Dinosaurs were the most obvious land animals on Planet Earth for a period of over 150 million years, until they suddenly disappeared around 66 million years ago, in an extinction event that is thought to have coincided with a major asteroid strike.
Since the museum's focus for exhibits is from the Nineteenth Century to the 1950s, dinosaurs are some way outside our date range, and are not on show in the museum ... except during dinosaur-themed Play Days, during which they appear in a variety of guises, and stage an invasion of our 00-gauge model railway layouts.
