Kleeware's range of plastic construction kits may come as a surprise to people who only know the Kleeware brand for its dollhouse furniture, and who might wonder hw a small (if prolific) company mananged to gather the resources to produce a signifcant range of scale plastic kits.

What seems to have happened is that Kleeware appears to have hired and licensed the machine tools for an existing range of kits from an American kit manufacturer, who would have then gotten an additional UK revenue stream without having to invest in local promotion and distribution. The US origin of the designs is fairly apparent frm the choice of models – a UK-centric range would have been unlikely to include a Bald Eagle!

Other manufacturers

The Kleeware range of kits seems to have originated at Pyro Plastics of New Jersey, who also licensed the kits to a number of other companies before the company and range were eventually taken over by Lindberg.
