The Meccano Space range appeared at the end of the 1970s as a response to the success of Star Wars (1979). Meccano Space presented a range of standard Meccano metal parts in white, along with some very pointed tapering angular cone parts (much too sharp to be able to represent the end of an Apollo rocket), a cockpit with pilot, and some rather cheesy red plastic rocket engines.
