The Dockerills hardware store on Church Road is still run by the Dockerills family, and is one of the oldest retail businesses in North Laine.

In film

The Dockerills shop (in an earlier incarnation, and temporarily renamed "Gardner's" for the film) appears in the 1962 crime film "Jigsaw", where the police visit the shop in order to try to prove that this is where the murderer bought their tools.

Closure

The retail premises' closure was announced the day before in the Argus. Dockerills will still be running a trade-only business, but not from the shop.
