"The Hornby Duck" (technically the "Hornby Water Toy (Duck)"), was one of the quirkiest items that Meccano Ltd. ever made.

It was , essentially, the hull of a clockwork toy boat (including propeller) with the superstructure of ... a duck.

This novel boat, which travels over 100 feet on one winding, is particularly suitable for young children. The deck carries a realistically moulded model of a Duck, as shown in the illustration below.
