The Rev. Edward Beal (1889-1985) was one of the most prolific advocates of model railway modelling, writing a mind-boggling number of articles across a range of model railway publications. He also published plans, and drew the artwork for paper backgrounds that were printed by Merco, the company that he founded with Eric Hutchison.
