A "Gypsy Girl" marionette made by Pelham Puppets.

There were two Gypsy Girl designs over the years, an LS type, of which this is an example, and an SS type.

The LS type puppets were some of the earliest made by the Pelham company and can be defined by their standard height (being the same as SS puppets) but more simple controls and 'half ball feet'. These types of puppets would have come in the earlier brown boxes and the example in the museum is displayed with its original box.

Details

Tanned skin, green headscarf, red lips, black hair. White blouse, black smock, blue and white floral skirt. Green half ball feet.
