A 1:1200 model of the Royal Navy "Ton" class minesweeper HMS Upton, part of the Tri-Ang Minic range produced between 1959 and 1964.

M 799-806 minesweepers
Tri-ang produced identical models of eight "Ton" Class minesweepers HMS Repton, HMS Dufton, HMS Ashton, HMS Calton, HMS Picton, HMS Sefton, HMS Upton and HMS Wiston distinguished only by the model number and name marked on the underside.
The model has a grey body and black detail.

M799 H.M.S. REPTON, M800 H.M.S. DUFTON, M801 H.M.S. ASHTON, M802 H.M.S. CALTON, M803 H.M.S. PICTON, M804 H.M.S. SEFTON, M805 H.M.S. UPTON, M806 H.M.S. WISTON – These are coastal minesweepers belonging to the "Coniston" class of which there are about 60. Length 1 1⁄2 in. (3.8 cms)
The original ship
One hundred and sixteen ships of the Royal Navy's "Ton" Class of minesweepers which were built during the 1950's. All of these ships were named after villages in Britain ending with "...ton", the "name" ship being HMS Coniston.
HMS Upton's commissioned period was 1956-1991.
