Jaunty Sports Boat To Tow behind Your Models
Latest addition to the series is No.796, Healey Sports Boat on Trailer ...
... Designed by Healey Marine Ltd. of Warwick, the prototype of this splendid little craft has a hydroplane hull and teak-faced deck. It is designed for speed and styled for looks and is powered by an inboard 1 1/2 litre BMC overhead-valve engine developing 55 b.h.p. at 4,000 r.p.m. It holds five people in comfort. Length of the actual boat is 14 ft. 9 in. and it has a beam of 5 ft. 6 in. The craft provides stable speed -- as much as 34 m.p.h. -- and can be used as a ski tow.
The Dinky Toys model is mounted on a trailer which is basically triangular in shape with two large wheels, shielded by mudguards, at the back, and at he front, a small wheel centrally mounted on the chassis frame just behind the towing hook.
The model has bright green decking and cream hull, and is fitted with imitation steering wheel and wind shield. It is a twin cockpit craft. One appealing feature is that the sports boat, which is easily removed from the trailer, does actually sail. The model can be towed behind any Dinky Toys car which will haul the popular No. 190 Caravan. ...
