Mullion marquetry panels in fine Honduras mahogany, box wood and bubinga, from the First Class Pullman car "FLORA".
The carriage
"Flora" was built in 1923 for the "Continental Express" London (Victoria) to Dover Marine. This luxury vehicle was subsequently used on other well-known Pullman trains, including the Celebrated Southern Belle to Brighton and the inaugural trip of the Bournemouth Belle.
Withdrawn in 1962, it was converted into a "Camping Coach" at Preston Park Works, Brighton and survives today in preservation.
