Lion (Taylor and Barrett) |
location: |
A painted cast lead model of an adult male lion, made by Taylor and Barrett some time between the 1930s and 1950s. The company produced many items that were essentially unchanged during this period, using the same moulds, with the later production perhaps being a little shiner.
The lion is orange with a dark mane, and is modelled in a standing crouch, with its left foreleg and hindleg forward, possibly in a "ready for action" confrontational pose.
