A simple white outline on the green back hills of the display, representing the Long Man of Wilmington.
The Long Man is an outline figure cut into the hillside, whose presence appears to have been first reliably documented in 1710 (although some groups believe that it might be much older). Currently, the Long Man is holding two staffs, it's believed that the figure may have originally been holding a sythe and a rake.
The Long Man's outline was "bricked" in 1874 with yellow bricks, and renovated again in 1969 with concrete blocks to make the outline more easily visible from far away. It is one of the iconic images of the Sussex countryside
