Luton vans
The "Luton" style of van body was associated with the town of Luton, Bedfordshire, which had a significant straw hat-making industry. The need to transport large numbers of bulky-but-light straw hats led to the creation of van bodies with these distinctive upper sections that jutted forward above the cab, creating additional room for transporting these sorts of lightweight products.
