A marionette of Pelham Puppets' popular (but probably no longer politically correct) MacBoozle character.

MacBoozle is a caricature of a Scottish character, white-haired with a black frock-coat and kilt, holding a green bottle.

Description

'MacBoozle' 'Stringed Mouth' SM Pelham puppet, with original box.

Pink skin tone wooden ball head with red wooden ball nose (paint worn) large blue hand painted eyes, short white sheepskin wool hair round crown of head and forming sideburns on cheeks. Articulated mouth, moveable lower jaw. Red and green tartan 'Tam o Shanter' style hat with pale pink rabbit fur pom pom. Black cotton fine velvet jacket with white silk top underneath.Yellow, green and red tartan kilt with black waistband, white sheepskin wool sporran. Lower limbs painted with yellow socks with blue and red diamond lines, red felt fringe attached to side of each calf. Wooden black clog style feet. Body construction: wooden torso, arms in solid tubular wooden sections, joints metal eyelets. Composition closed hands. Right hand carved out to accommodate holding carved wooden dark green solid beer bottle. Left hand holds folded white cotton hanky on thread. Legs have metal inserted vertical hinge to knees and ankles.

Box - brown card with blue and red Pelham puppets design label. Box faintly stamped 'Type SM' and 'Macboozle' on end of lid.
