A boxed Meccano Gears Set with 1970s -styled packaging.
Other than the packaging, a casual observer would be hard pressed to find any differences between the 1970s version of the set, and the original Gears Outfit.
Packaging
Although this pack has the 1970s dark blue box, and a clear window that lets you see the contents (which are press-fitted into spaces in a white expanded-polystyrene foam block), the parts and even their layout in the box looks just like the lineart for when the gears set was originally launched.
Judging by the shininess of the gleaming brass gearwheels visible through the clear plastic, this particular pack doesn't look as if it's ever been used.
