Model House kits (MCaw Stevenson and Orr)
1927: "Build a House" advert, Meccano Magazine [image info]
This was a small range of fifteen model card kits of buildings, supplied in seven different packs. Made by (or for) the Belfast-based manufacturer of Seccotine glue, M'Caw, Stevenson & Orr, whoever made them seems to have neglected to give the range a name (unless the name was on the packaging but not on the advertising).
They were briefly advertised in Meccano Magazine in 1927.
Advert text:
We offer a limited number of model house sets to readers of the "Meccano Magazine".
Each set is printed on stout card and enclosed in an envelope on which a picture of the made-up design appears.
This envelope is enclosed in a box containing also building base and straight edge together with tube of SECCOTINE and printed instruction sheet.
In the cases of Nos. 4,5,6, and 7, the greater number of Models makes it easy to fit three or more of them together to resemble part of a Modern Village. Very successful results can be obtained with three different boxes.
Any box for 1/6, postage paid.
