Noddy marionette (Pelham Puppets)(i) |
location: |
Arch Two , Area 54 Puppet Corner |
A marionette of the children's book character "Noddy" created by Enid Blyton in around 1949, made by Pelham Puppets.
A JC model marionette.
This piece demonstrates beige strings (which were changed to coloured ones in 1955 in order to make it easier to untangle them) and the thinner, shaped composite hands which were typical of the late 1940s and early 1950s. These features allow us to give the item an estimated age of 60 to 67 years.
