The Dance Space is a new custom built performance space for dance, currently under construction (as of 2020) on Circus Road, Brighton, UK. It is scheduled to open to the public in early 2021, and is described as being the first new publicly funded arts building to open in Sussex in over a decade.
The new building will act a a regional Dance Hub, providing a new home for South East Dance from Autumn 2020, and provide three state-of-the-art dance studios and a block of rentable shared workspace for creative industry professionals.
Circus Street
Circus Street became the site of a municipal market in 1937, and the Fish Market was moved there from the seafront in 1960. The fish market closed in 2005, since when the site has looked somewhat derelict.
