II: 4501: THE LIBRARY.

The Library ceiling of the Queen's Dolls' House is painted by William Walcot, R.B.A. The picture of Queen Elizabeth is by William Nicholson, and the portrait of Henry VIII at the end of the room is a copy by Sir Arthur Cope, R.A., of the original by Holbein. The gilt bronze horse is by Herbert Haseltine, and is a model of one of the King's champion Shire horses. The large Walnut Cabinet on which are reproductions of the King's Despatch Boxes from the various Ministries, is one of a pair which contain 750 miniature water colours, etchings and drawings, contributed by the leading artists of the day.
