2016: front cover of Voie Libre No 85 [image info]
Voie Libre is an offshoot publication, quarterly since October 1997, bimonthly since 2006, that started out as an insert in Loco-Revue, promoting radical and non-mainstream approaches to railway modelling ... less popular gauges, unusual subject matter, and new modelling techniques, including laser-cutting and 3D printing.
The magazine is translated into (and published in) English (as "Voie Libre International"), with the exception of the title, which doesn’t translate well.
The name Voie Libre (literally: "Free way") is a pun, with "voie libre" being a French phrase that means a clear escape route, while "voie" also means railway track.
