A ~32mm gauge model of a cabless black and gold "Vulcan" 2-2-2 GWR express passenger locomotive with black four-wheel tender.
One of six 2-2-2 locomotives ordered by Isambard Kingdom Brunel for the GWR from Charles Tayleur's "Vulcan Locomotive Works", the "Vulcan" loco was the first to run on the Great Western Railway, in 1837.
This is part of a collection that shows the development of early steam locomotive design. The models are all an "approximately 00/HO-gauge sized" mixture of 3.5 and 3mm scale, and broad-gauge locomotives, on 32mm track, and are probably a mix of modified white metal kits and scratch-built parts.
