Giulia: " This model represents a zebra that is walking. It is decorated carefully with the typical colours of this animal: black and white. The look of this animal is fixed as to represents the constant fear of being attacked. "

1940 catalogue description

" These animals are natives of Africa, and their striking markings are well known. They roam about in herds of from ten to twenty. A peculiarity of these animals is that one member of a herd acts as a sentinel and gives warning of danger by sense of smell, long before the enemy is in sight. "
