Card No. 08: The COMPER "SWIFT" (Great Britain).

The "Swift" is one of the smallest light aeroplanes built in this country. It is a single-seat sports monoplane and, in addition to its smart appearance, is very fast (top speed 135 m.p.h., cruising speed 120 mph.) and is a very useful machine for aerobatics. Tiny as it is, the "Swift" set up a record for an England to Australia flight which was accomplished in 1931. Other long flights have also been successfully made and a large number of racing wins recorded. The "Swift" is a particularly easy machine to fly and is used both by commercial and amateur pilots.
