Locomotives with a 4-4-4 wheel configuration.
This wheel configuration was unusual in the UK, but appeared on some tank locomotives that needed a "forward" four-wheel bogey for stability when shunting heavy loads, and where (due to the demands of goodsyard shunting) it might have to operate in either direction.
The configuration was used on the early gauge 0 Hornby No.2 tank locomotive models.
