Reka was founded in 1908 by C.W. Baker. The brand name of Reka came from the final four letters of Baker's surname, reversed.
Originally a toy and nursery business, Baker employed German companies to provide him with hollow-cast figures to sell but but after 1910 he began a larger production run and as such began employing British craftsmen.
In 1932 Baker decided to sell his moulds to Crescent Toys. The more popular and low cost figures from Reka's range where then produced by Crescent while other figures where phased out.
