Card No. 48 : The FOKKER F XVIII (Holland)
This three- engined air liner is the principal type used by the Royal Dutch Air Lines for the European and the Hol land-Batavia air lines. With a cruising speed of about 157 mph., it is a graceful and very efficient monoplane carrying four teen passengers and two pilots. The cabin is wide and lofty with a wide pas sage in the centre. The weekly service to the Dutch East Indies is a journey occupying seven days and in addition to a heavy mail four passengers are carried. One machine flies the whole length of the route, a distance of over 9,000 miles.
