A diecast Western Covered Wagon with four horses and box, sold as a product tie-in with the US 1957 tv series "Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans".
The model has a detachable driver, hood, four horses and water butts.
Branding
The box artwork lists this as "A MODERN 'MORESTONE' PRODUCT", with 'Morestone' in single quotation marks.
Dating
The odd wording on the box, with '"Morestone" in quotes, suggests to us that perhaps Modern Products were in charge of how the piece was marketed, suggesting a date of 1966 or later (as this is when Modern Products took over their customer Morestone).
The TV series ran in the USA from 1957 to 1964. We don't actually know if or when it was shown in the UK, but it's perhaps conceivable that it might have been shown as late as 1963/1964, creating an opportunity for a tie-in toy. But we don't actually know.
