Card No. 44 : The JUNKERS JU. 52 3 M (Germany)
The Junkers Ju. 52 is the principal type employed by the German Luft Hansa for their many air routes. It is a three-engined machine with a carrying capacity of sixteen passengers, and can be operated either as a landplane or seaplane. Its cruising speed is about 160 mph. The passengers' cabin is very comfortable and special attention is paid to ventilation and heating. Another version of this machine is built for use as a freighter, the fuselage being rather bigger and divided into two decks. The latter type can also be used as an air ambulance.
