Card No. 45 : The KLEMM L 25 (Germany)
One of the first sporting aeroplanes to be built after the War. It was originally intended for a limited use such as would be possible with a small two-stroke engine. But the type became so popular that it has been improved and strengthened and is now practically the standard German light aeroplane. It is of wooden construction, carrying a pilot and passenger and has a striking resemblance to a bird when in flight. It has a top speed of about 70 m.p.h. Later versions are much faster. A feature of the Klemm is its ease of landing and it is regarded as being almost fool-proof.
