Postal Savings Bank-style moneybox, POSTPARKASSE |
location: |
A yellow rectangular lithographed tinplate wall-mountable moneybox, which we think was for house visitors to leave contributions when they make phone calls.
Description
The box is designed to look like a German savings bank postbox, printed with a facsimile white label marked POSTPARKASSE ("Postal Savings Bank") and some tiny text that presumably told customers of the real bank how to mark their deposit envelopes. The box has a posting slot at either side covered by a liftable flap, and two slotted holes at the back allow the box to be wallmounted by fitting it onto a pair of suitably-spaced screwheads.
