Card No. 19: The SARO "CLOUD" (Great Britain)

A twin-engined flying-boat which is fitted with retractable wheels, and can operate both on land and water; cruising speed about 112 mph. This type — the Amphibian — is particularly useful in districts where few aerodromes are available. The "Cloud" accommodates eight passengers in a roomy cabin; the pilot's cockpit, fitted with dual control, being in the bow. A number of the type suitably modified are used for instructional purposes by the Royal Air Force and because of their ample accommodation they are known as the "Flying Classrooms."
