Card No. 47  : The SAVOIA-MARCHETTI S-71 (Italy)

The outstanding feature of this commercial monoplane is the wonderful view available for the passengers due to a large full-length window and the high position of the wing and wing engines. There is accommodation for eight passengers and two pilots with lavatory and mail compartment aft of the cabin. It has a cruising speed of 142 m.p.h. and with three engines, it has a large margin of safety, being able to fly with any one stopped. The type is used largely on the Italian internal air lines.
