An "Oilette" postcard of "The King's Bathroom", The Queen's Dolls' House (later to be known as Queen Mary's Dolls' House), produced by Raphael Tuck and Sons ("Tuck's Postcards") catalogue number 4502-2. These postcards started to be produced in 1924, when the dollhouse first went on public display.
SERIES III: THE ROYAL BEDROOMS, Etc.
III: 4502: THE KING’S BATH ROOM.
The King's Bath is of a dark green marble, known as Verdite, and the six tiny taps work with real water, showers and spray. The enclosure of the handbasin is of the same green marble, and on a white marble shelf is a minute bottle of bath salts. The ceiling is beautifully painted, and the walls are decorated with "Punch" Cartoons by Bernard Partridge and L. Raven-Hill. There are towels one-twelfth the ordinary size and tablets of soap the size of a pea, nail brushes and sponges – all complete in this dainty and marvellous palace – the Queen's Dolls' House.
