An "Oilette" postcard of "The Kings Bedroom", The Queen's Dolls' House (later to be known as Queen Mary's Dolls' House), produced by Raphael Tuck and Sons ("Tuck's Postcards") catalogue number 4502-1. These postcards started to be produced in 1924, when the dollhouse first went on public display.
SERIES III: THE ROYAL BEDROOMS, Etc.
III: 4502: THE KING’S BEDROOM.
An enchanting apartment in the Queen's Dolls' House is the King's Bedroom with its three walnut chests of drawers, its beautiful carpet, silver Knowle chandelier, Chippendale chairs with needlework covered seats, etc. The bed itself is hung with specially woven silk and the beautiful coverlet is about the size of a small handkerchief. Over the mantelpiece is a portrait of Princess Mary painted by Ambrose McEvoy.
